Refund Policy

1. Overview

At StartupDeals, we strive to ensure that all transactions are completed successfully and that both buyers and sellers are satisfied. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be issued.

2. Escrow Protection

All payments are held in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt and satisfaction with the purchased asset. This protects both parties by ensuring that funds are only released when the asset has been successfully transferred as described.

3. Grounds for Refund

Refunds may be issued under the following circumstances:

  • Asset Not as Described: The asset significantly differs from the listing description
  • Non-Delivery: The seller fails to deliver the asset within the agreed timeframe
  • Technical Issues: The asset has critical technical problems not disclosed in the listing
  • Fraudulent Listing: The seller does not have the legal right to sell the asset
  • Mutual Agreement: Both buyer and seller agree to cancel the transaction

4. Refund Process

To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. File a Dispute: Go to your dashboard and file a dispute within 14 days of the transaction date
  2. Provide Evidence: Submit detailed information and supporting documentation about the issue
  3. Communication: Work with the seller through our dispute resolution system to resolve the issue
  4. Admin Review: If no resolution is reached, our team will review the case and make a determination
  5. Refund Processing: If approved, the refund will be processed within 5-10 business days

5. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will NOT be issued in the following cases:

  • Buyer's remorse or change of mind after confirming receipt
  • Buyer fails to perform adequate due diligence before purchase
  • Minor discrepancies that do not materially affect the asset's value or functionality
  • Issues that were clearly disclosed in the asset listing
  • Buyer disputes after the 14-day dispute window has closed
  • The asset was used or modified after delivery

6. Platform Fees

In the event of a refund, the buyer will receive a full refund of the purchase price. Platform fees and payment processing fees are non-refundable except in cases where StartupDeals determines that the seller engaged in fraudulent activity.

7. Partial Refunds

In some cases, a partial refund may be appropriate if the asset has some issues but is still usable. Our dispute resolution team will work with both parties to determine a fair partial refund amount based on the specific circumstances.

8. Chargeback Policy

We strongly discourage chargebacks as they bypass our dispute resolution system. If you file a chargeback with your bank or credit card company, your account may be suspended pending investigation. Please use our dispute system first to resolve any issues.

9. Dispute Timeline

Important deadlines to remember:

  • 14 days: Maximum time to file a dispute after transaction
  • 5 days: Seller has 5 days to respond to a dispute
  • 7 days: Admin review will be completed within 7 days if no mutual resolution
  • 5-10 business days: Refund processing time after approval
